In addition to law, Paul has a diverse professional background in engineering and information technology. This mix of skills and experience is applied to Business Law clients with emphasis on the intellectual property, IT and trade areas.

In particular, Paul has substantial expertise in establishing, protecting and monitoring intellectual property rights for corporate clients. Paul also acts for clients, such as manufacturers, computer and IT businesses, whose businesses are intricately linked to these areas of law.

This work includes drafting and negotiating licences and business agreements, conducting intellectual property audits and the registration, protection, licensing, enforcement and defence of intellectual property rights.

Paul's practice in trade and supply includes advice on the methods, feasibility and documentation of franchising, distribution, agency and other trade alternatives. Competitive conduct, product liability and recalls and other areas of the Trade Practices Act are covered and Paul educates client's staff on these areas as part of implementing Trade Practices Compliance Programs.

Paul has established franchises and acts for overseas and Australian Franchisors in many market segments.
