M+K supports a balance between work and lifestyle for all levels in the firm. To attract and retain talented high performing individuals, we have flexible work arrangements in place to accommodate busy schedules and the juggle of demanding lifestyles.
M+K were ranked 5th on ALB's Fast 10 list of fastest growing firms of 2009 and with over 30% of our staff currently working on flexible arrangements we expect that percentage to increase.
Flexible arrangements
Working from home is a particularly popular family friendly option. These arrangements are sometimes formal for example a parent with two children working from the office 2 days per week and 1 from home. Some arrangements are informal in that in any one week, 20 or so Lawyers work from home at some point.
Along with part/time hours and days we also have many staff working full time hours who vary their start and finish times.
Paid parental leave
After 12 months continuous employment, M+K provides paid parental leave for the primary care-giver of up to 12 weeks. We also provide paid leave of one week to the non-primary care-giver.
Overall approach
We approach every request individually as each circumstance must be considered carefully to ensure business and client needs are met. Although M+K makes every effort to accommodate change, it is not always guaranteed.
